Pet Remembrance Tree
Celebrate the life of a beloved pet with a lasting tribute.
Losing a pet leaves a space in our hearts that never truly goes away. The love we shared, the joy they brought, and the memories we made deserve to be honored.
At Monroe County Humane Association, our new Pet Remembrance Tree offers a beautiful way to celebrate the life of a cherished pet—your own or one belonging to a friend or loved one. This hand-crafted metal tree, rooted in a granite boulder on our campus, is adorned with custom-engraved silver tags that shimmer in the light—each one representing a life that mattered deeply.

How It Works
You can honor a pet by purchasing an engraved tag that will be hung year-round on our Pet Remembrance Tree. Each tag includes your personalized message and can be ordered online or with a paper form.
Tag Options:
$35 – One engraved tag displayed on the Remembrance Tree
$50 – One engraved tag displayed on the tree + one duplicate keepsake tag mailed to you with your thank you letter
Tags can also be purchased in honor of a friend or family member’s pet as a thoughtful gift.
How To Order
You can purchase a tag in one of two ways:
Order Online:
Complete the online order form and submit your payment.
Note: Our online system allows one tag per transaction. To order multiple tags, please complete the form more than once or use the paper form below.

Frequently Asked Questions
What information can I include on a tag?
Each tag can have up to 4 lines of text, with a maximum of 18 characters per line. Spaces count as characters. You can include a pet’s name, dates, or a short message like “Forever Loved” or “Best Friend.” Text is automatically centered and resized to fit the finished tag (see example). Please note that the more text or lines you use, the smaller the lettering will be, and spaces count as characters.
Can I choose the tag shape or color?
All Remembrance Tree tags are made from anodized aluminum, are round in shape, and have a silver finish designed to complement the tree’s natural surroundings.
Can I visit the tree?
Absolutely. The Pet Remembrance Tree is located at MCHA’s campus and is open to visitors during business hours. You’re welcome to come sit, reflect, and find comfort in this shared space of remembrance.
What if my tag is damaged or goes missing?
If a tag is damaged due to vandalism, theft, or severe weather, MCHA will replace it at no cost. Donors who want to replace their tag due to normal aging or wear may do so for an additional donation.
When will my tag be installed?
Tags are engraved and added to the tree in batches. Most tags are installed within 3–4 weeks of ordering. We’ll notify you in your thank you letter once it’s been placed.
How is the duplicate keepsake tag delivered?
Keepsake tags are mailed directly to the address you provide on the form, along with a receipt/thank-you note.
Can I order a tag in memory of someone else’s pet?
Absolutely. These make meaningful gifts for anyone who has experienced the loss of a pet. Just be sure to include your personalization and mailing details for the keepsake tag (if selected)
What happens if the tree runs out of space?
MCHA will add new trees as needed to accommodate additional tribute tags, ensuring every pet or person can be honored as part of this growing memorial space.
Your Gift Helps Others
Every tag purchased supports MCHA’s mission to keep pets safe, healthy, and home with the people who love them. Your donation helps provide access to veterinary care, pet food, crisis housing, and other essential services for families in need.
Through your tribute, you’re not only honoring the life of a beloved pet—you’re also helping other animals live theirs.
