Why spay/neuter your pet?
Together we can stop pet overpopulation.

It's the right thing to do.
3.7 million animals are euthanized each year, because there aren't enough adopters.
According to the ASPCA:
* Cats - 6,630,000 are born in homes each year (about 18,165/day)
This doesn't include feral cats. Adding them increases the number 30-50%.
* Dogs - 6,040,000 are born in homes each year (about 16,559/day
* People - 4,116,000 are born per year in the US (about 11,277/day
In other words, each year there are:
* 1.6 non-feral cats per human born
* 1.5 dogs per human born
Having your pet "fixed" ensures that you will not be adding to this tremendous burden.
It improves pet health.
Neutering a male by 6 months of age prevents testicular cancer, prostate disease, and hernias.
Spaying a female before her first heat helps prevent pyometra (a pus-filled uterus) and breast cancer - expensive and potentially deadly diseases. Breast cancer can be fatal in 50% of female dogs and 90% of female cats.
It makes a happier home.
"Fixing" your pets can give them happier, healthier, longer lives with you.
Spaying eliminates the crying, nervous pacing and mess of heat. Neutering can prevent undesirable behaviors, such as marking, humping, aggression and the urge to roam. If you have more than one pet at home, all the pets will generally get along better if they are "fixed".
