FAQs

How can I register & particpate in both?

The 5K is a timed event. Registration must be completed through the Sign Me Up website. 

The Dog Jog is a $10 registration fee and includes an event giftbag. Register at the bottom of this page.

 

I want to do the dog jog, how many dogs can participate?

We welcome all dogs that are friendly and healthy to particpate in the event and

suggest a $10 donation/ registration per dog or participant. With each $10 donation, an event giftbag is included.

 

I want to order a tshirt, but do not want to participate in the 5K Race/Walk.

You can guarantee your event t-shirt by ordering at the bottom of this page.

To guarantee your t-shirt will be at the event, you must order no later than 9/15/16.

 

How many people can particpate in the family / dog fun parade for a $10 registration?

The Run for the Animals and Barktoberfest event is one of the primary fundraisers for the programs and services

of the Monroe County Humane Assocation, we suggest a $10 donation/ registration per dog or participant.

 

Do I have to register for the 5K Race/Walk?

No. Only those planning to run or walk in the timed 5K Race/Walk need to register for it.

 

Can my dog be in the 5K Race/Walk with me?

Yes! For fun, you can even register your dog as a runner and we'll time your dog and provide him/her with a bib!

Runners with dogs should start towards the back of the pack of runners.

 

How long is the family / dog fun parade?

The Dog Jog is an easy 1.5mile walk around the Woolery Mill grounds. The Dog Jog will begin on the Northwest corner of the Woolery Mill grounds.  The race will follow the path through the trees on the Woolery Mill grounds going South, following S. Weimer Road.  The dog jog will catch the Clear Creek trail head under the Tapp Road bridge (runners/walkers should go under the bridge).  The course will follow the Clear Creek Trail, crossing over S. Rockport Road and approximately three-quarters of a mile passed Rockport Road, will be a water station and the turn-around point. The course will follow the same path returning to Tapp Road, under the bridge and running up Kegg Road to the finish line at the intersection of Kegg Road and Sunstone Drive for a complete 3.1miles.

 

What does my dog need to have to particpate in Barktoberfest and the family / dog fun parade?

We request that all dogs that participate be spayed or neutered, or if they aren't of age, should not be in heat

when they attend the event. Dogs should be up to date on their rabies vaccine.

 

What is the 5K Race/Walk course?

The 5K Run / Walk will begin on the Northwest corner of the Woolery Mill grounds.  The race will follow the path through the trees on the Woolery Mill grounds going South, following S. Where can I park?

Parking is available behind Cassady Electric at 2200 W. Tapp Road, at the Clear Creek Trail head, and along Kegg Road.

 

Is there a rain date?

This event happens rain or shine, and there is no rain date! If there is severe, or inclement weather,

notifications will be made via all social media outlets.
