Education
Offering humane education is one of MCHA’s primary roles in the community. As the leading animal welfare and advocacy entity in Monroe County, MCHA educates the community around crucial topics such as responsible pet ownership including exotic pets and rodents, how to co-exist with wildlife, and how to appropriately care for, keep, and train our pets. MCHA believes an effective humane education program keeps animals out of shelters, reduces behavior problems long-term, and prevents unnecessary euthanasia.
MCHA offers a wide variety of education options:
-
Public and private school programs
-
Ivy Tech classes
-
Special programs as requested
-
Practical dog training lessons at our Nonprofit Veterinary Clinic & Outreach Center
-
Practical workshops at dog parks
-
And more!
