MCHA doesn’t oversee a shelter or the care of adoptable animals. MCHA is a non-profit animal welfare advocacy and education organization. We focus on proactive responses to animal overpopulation by providing spay/neuter assistance vouchers to families that otherwise couldn’t afford to have their pets fixed and humane education across the county with therapy animals and ambassador animals. We do not receive funds from tax dollars or national organizations. We are funded through grants, private donations, fundraisers and events.

If you have questions regarding adoptable animals, or strays, the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control is the city-funded animal shelter where they take in strays, owner surrendered animals, and offer adoptions. You can reach them at 812-349-3492.
