| I have always loved animals and even worked in a couple of Veterinarian Offices. We Always had big dogs on our farm and raised Labs. I thought I should look into adopting because of so many animals get euthanized for just not being wanted. I went in the shelter thinking I wanted a Lab or Lab mix,but to my surprise I saw this 3 month old Jack Russell mix(later found out she was fullblooded Rat Terrier)shaking, scared and newly spayed. You could tell someone had abused her. She was very shy and scared. It took four Saturdays in a row to make this BIG decision. I was told by staff she may never be a "social" dog. Well, I decided she was the one and we had a lot of work ahead of us. She was so scared of everything and especially men and children. It took love and patience, but it was worth it! She IS my best friend and loves to play with my 6 yr. old nephew and loves other women and now slowly lets men pet her. She's loving and playful and loves my lap.I just got diagnosed with 2 very serious illnesses and if it weren't for Laialh I would just sit and fell sorry for myself. She's like a home nurse, seriously! She knows the days I don't feel so well and she is by my side comforting me the whole time. I LOVE HER! She makes me keep going and I love to spoil her!!! Lailah is the best thing that happened to me other than when my children were born! And I hope I am the best thing that happened to her. WE are partners for life! Thank you sooo much and don't underestimate the most abused, scared animals because they know with love and kindness things will get better. I've learned alot from Lailah.(By the way who does the breed guessing?) I think they need to study more! ha ha just kidding! Thanks again!!!!!! |
