Sarah DeLone - Education Program Director
Sarah joined the MCHA team in February of 2001, first as Director of our Wildlife Program, which merged with our education program in the spring of 2002.
A Bloomington native, Sarah brings both experience and enthusiasm to her job. Sarah has degrees in zoo keeping, outdoor recreation/resource management and outdoor teacher education. For six years, she worked at St. Louis' World Bird Sanctuary, where she supervised educational programs that featured live birds of prey, and helped with the rehabilitation and captive breeding programs.
Sarah works with a variety of MCHA "animal ambassadors," including Journey, her therapy dog, a red-tailed hawk, great horned owl, cockatoo, royal python, rabbit, and a ferret to help educate the public about many different humane issues. Our Education Program reaches thousands of children and adults each year through presentations to classrooms, organizations and special events.
